Community Guidelines

FoundRadar is a free, volunteer-run lost pet network. It works only if people can trust what they see here. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Use.

What belongs on FoundRadar

Post only real reports about real animals:

• Lost pets: your own pet, or a pet you care for, that is missing.
• Found pets: a pet you have found or are holding while you look for its owner.
• Sightings: a pet you saw, sent through the "I've seen this pet" form on its report.

Good reports use your own recent photos, an honest description, and the real last-seen time and area. Close your report when the pet is home.

What is not allowed

Selling, rehoming, or breeding. No ads to sell, rehome, adopt out, give away, trade, or breed animals, and no ads for products or services.

Asking for money or fees. Never ask anyone for money, deposits, "shipping," "vet bills," or gift cards. FoundRadar never charges fees and never asks for payment. Anyone asking for money "on behalf of FoundRadar" is not us. An owner may offer a reward in their report, but a finder may not demand payment before returning a pet.

Fake claims. No false "found" claims or fake sightings to collect a reward, get someone's contact details, or lure them somewhere. No reports about animals that are not lost.

Personal attacks. No harassment, threats, insults, hate, or blaming owners for losing a pet.

Other people's private information. Do not post someone else's name, address, phone, email, license plate, or photos of people without their permission. Do not post your own home address. The public page already shows an approximate area.

Graphic images. No images of injured, dead, or suffering animals, and no violent or sexual content. If you found an injured or deceased pet, describe it in words and contact local animal control or a shelter.

Spam and misuse. No links to unrelated sites, repeated posts about the same pet, bots, or copying reports in bulk.

Illegal content. Nothing that breaks the law or someone else's rights, including photos you do not have permission to use.

How we moderate

We are volunteers and we cannot review every post before it appears. We use:

• Automatic checks that hide links and phone numbers in descriptions, flag words tied to selling, rehoming, and payment, and limit how often forms can be sent.
• Human review by volunteer moderators, who look at flagged posts and reports from users.

Depending on the problem, we may edit formatting, hide a report, remove it, or block someone from posting. Scams and threats may be removed right away without notice. We may pass information to law enforcement when someone's safety is at risk. If you think we made a mistake, write to the contact form at /contact and we will take another look.

Reporting a listing

If a listing or message breaks these rules or looks like a scam:

1. Use the report link on the listing page, or write to the contact form at /contact with the listing link.
2. Tell us briefly what is wrong.
3. Do not send money, codes, or personal details to the person.

If you are in danger or a crime is happening, contact local police first.

Stay safe

Meet finders in a public place, verify the pet with a detail that is not in the listing, and never pay before you see your pet. Read our Terms of Use for more safety tips.
